Which is how the Millennium Falcon was able to travel from Hoth to Bespin in a few days or weeks rather than a few years (as well how Boba Fett and Vader were able to get there ahead of them). Compared to a normal hyperdrive, it's not nearly as fast and won't get you very far, but it's enough to at least limp to the nearest inhabited star system for repairs.
